Only by banding together can we begin to turn around the stalking epidemic. That effort starts with a massive awareness campaign, so that:
- Potential victims recognize the signs before an obsession becomes entrenched
- Targets discover how to sidestep the obsessive dynamic
- Victims learn how best to protect themselves
- Professionals recognize and know how to deal with stalking
Spreading the word and providing lifesaving information and resources to the victims of stalking as well as to the many people seeking more insight into this frightening phenomenon takes time, effort and money. Indeed, several generous contributions from a single donor who was moved by Linden’s book Surviving a Stalker to the nonprofit organization Stalker Survivors Sanctuary & Solutions financed the update of the Stalking Victims’ Sanctuary (SVS) website and discussion board, as well as the costs associated with publishing the new edition of the book.
Where can we go from here? That depends on you.
Stalking Victims Sanctuary Website
We’d love to turn SVS into an even better resource that includes a professionals’ resource center featuring the latest research, techniques and tools, and a live chat room featuring monthly interactive talks from experts in the field. Is there anything you’d like to see? Let us know. With enough help, we can make it happen.
Stalking Survivors’ Sanctuary & Solutions Nonprofit
Down the line, the Stalking Survivors’ Sanctuary & Solutions hopes to produce everything from publications and documentaries to videos and video games to get the word out about stalking and how to cope with it, as well as ideas to help prevent it in the first place.
Contribute to the Cause
All this takes funding. If you’re moved to donate, thank you. Every single penny of your donation will go directly to financing our efforts to spread the word about stalking because the Stalking Survivors’ Sanctuary & Solutions has no overhead. Zero.
Tight on money? Without spending a dime – or even a nickel – you and your company or business can help support victims of stalking and domestic violence. How? By sending us—or helping us to collect—old, useless cell phones, you will help to:
- Fund our efforts to foster healthy relationships, prevent stalking and its predecessor domestic violence, and enable victims to cope with their life-destroying situation.
- Provide battered women with a free way to call from help wherever they are.
And you, your organization or your company employees will reap the benefit of a tax-deductible donation.
Stalking Awareness Campaign
Of course, you can also help spread the word and increase awareness about stalking today. Just head to your local police station, women’s shelter or anywhere else stalking victims seek assistance and tell them about this website, the discussion board and Linden’s book Surviving a Stalker. Too few people understand about stalking or know about these lifesaving resources. Let’s change that.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and your assistance. We welcomed you to the Stalking Victims Sanctuary when you entered the site. Now we’re welcoming you to our ranks.
